Salary:                                    €20,280-€24,843, Facility Membership, Performance bonus (fitness classes), CPD Programme.

Portarlington Leisure Centre: was awarded Best Leisure Facility for 2020 at the National Quality Standards and comprises the Pool hall (25m x 9m Main Pool & Learner Pool, Sauna & Steam Room), Gymnasium, Classes Studio, Astroturf pitches and coffee dock. As a recognised training centre for RLSS, STA and ITEC we are committed to staff CPD and industry training. Our motto is “Working Towards a Healthier Community!” which provides a focus to our friendly and welcoming approach to our customers. Along with our membership base, we have a busy public and school lessons programmes and pay per visit usage is high for both pool and fitness activities.

Our ideal candidate:

Essentials

• Fitness Instructor Qualification (recognised by REPS Ireland)
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

Desirable:

• Swimming Instructor Qualification
• Fitness class instruction experience

Summary of Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1.              To supervise fitness clients to make sure that they are exercising safely and effectively.

2.              To carry out fitness assessments, consultations and inductions with new clients.

 3.              To teach safe, enjoyable and effective group fitness classes.

4.              To design customer exercise programmes.

5.              Application of the skills of lifeguarding supervision and rescue techniques.

6.              Maintain high standards of hygiene, professionalism and customer service.

7.              Maintain clean Garda vetting throughout your employment.
