Description

The role of the Maintenance Technician will be based within the Maintenance Department delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production and the site wide facility. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team of Fitters & Electricians in ensuring all maintenance work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner. You must be Self-motivated, Enthusiastic, and able to work on own initiative . Key Responsibilities: Providing maintenance support, both reactive repairs and planned maintenance within the manufacturing & office facility. Carry out installations and commissioning of plant/ equipment & trouble shooting of same. Carry out basic programming and diagnostic of plant and equipment. Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machinery & minimise downtime in production and utility areas. Carry out the execution of the preventive maintenance programs. Troubleshooting using PLC Programs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, General Electric and Schneider Electric PLCs. Technical support for all the plant facilities (including but not limited to compressed air & refrigeration. Support and participate in all Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality activities. Carry out engineering work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to cGMP. As part of the Maintenance team, you will need to work with equipment suppliers on new equipment, installations, and modifications. Assist the Health & Safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team. Have working knowledge/ experience with a "Lock -out Tag-out" programme. Closely monitor line, machine performance and improve where possible. Overseeing of contractors on site. General maintenance support such as: Process equipment; HVAC equipment; Refrigeration; Packaging Equipment. Skills and Qualifications: A relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/ Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skills. PLC/ PC Control Systems experience. Experience at identifying & execute machine / line improvement projects (lean initiatives. Experience working with Quality and Health & Safety departments. Experience of machine control diagnostics. As the Maintenance Technician, you must have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as an analytical, decisive approach. Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS. Ensure that in the event of breakdown that remedial work is expedited and that follow-up actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence. Experience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG plant (food production environment essential. Have experience of a wide range of Motor Control Systems & Process Temperature Controls & Pneumatics. Strong industrial mechanical service and repair skills.
