Energy Trading Market & Pricing Analyst. The role is in the Data Analytics team & to forecast market trends using detailed market analytics. Forecasting for the commercial team including understanding the market drivers, competitor analysis & key influences in energy prices. You will : - Develop & maintain electricity market pricing models for both the ISEM & GB to support asset ops & investment decisions. Detailed knowledge of the Integrated Single Electricity Market (ISEM) market & provide statistical & analytical expertise in order to enhance strategic trading decisions. Be a subject matter expert, to analyse complex data sets provide technical analysis with insights. The main duties & responsibilities of the role will include the following: Lead quantitative data analysis for the trading team & identify trading opps. Work with the trading team to gather requirements, analyse & interpret complex data sets & make recommendations relating to trading to ensure profitability is achieved. Support the maintenance of data sets, monitoring & auditing data quality. Carry out data validation, and ensure that the data maintained, manipulated for decision making. Analyse & support problem solving & trading strategy & outcomes. Develop & maintain electricity market pricing models. Support the wider energy team by identify areas to increase efficiency in reporting. Develop market analysis including analysis of current/future market conditions, market drivers, competitor analysis & understand influences on energy prices for the business. You will have: Hons Degree (level 8, 2.1 min), in a relevant subject i.e., Statistical/Numerical background. Data Analytics, Econ, Maths, Finance, IT, Eng. 2-3 year's exp in Data Analytics/Trader or equiv & price forecasting. Knowledge of ISEM & the analysis of energy market drivers & power system modelling. Plexos / similar market modelling tools with expert excel skills is essential. Analytical thinker with excellent statistical & quantitative skills. Exp of data modelling, managing large data sets & volumes of data & making statistical inferences required. Competent in IT packages i.e., Advanced MS Excel (macros, pivot tables etc), SQL, Python, R studio, AWS. Strong comms, organisational, reporting & interpersonal skills. A self-starter who can work on their own initiative. A very competitive and negotiable salary and benefits.
