Our client is a climate solution company that is currently looking for GIS Specialist on full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the control and availability of accurate mapping information for use and input into the renewable energy project development pipeline. The successful candidate will also be responsible for enabling timely high-quality decision making, assist cost efficient project development, and compliment business continuity. Duties and responsibilities : Lead the GIS database management; to control and maintain existing databases using ArcGIS software to provide accurate mapping information; Lead the GIS data management structures, to ensure storage/retrieval continuity, and file format consistency where appropriate; Lead the Renewable Energy Business Unit in the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Renewable Energy Business Unit GIS resources and skillsets; Deliver - data presentation and mapping (Prepare high quality maps for a range of renewable energy development sites and technologies); Analyse and collate datasets such as topographical survey data, LiDAR, UAV data, Renewable Energy design constraints, land ownership data, and GPR data; Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders and carry out such site visits and inspections as are required in furtherance of the Renewable Energy development strategy; Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives; All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises. The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: NFQ Level 8 BSc in Geomatics/GIS or other relevant degree or working towards same; Minimum 3 years relevant experience; Membership of SCSI or RICS would be an advantage; Highly proficient in the use of GIS software, preferably experience with using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (AGOL); Proficient in the use and integration of other data from sources such as AutoCAD drawings, LIDAR, UAV, etc; Experience in Planning project mapping, including EIA and AA maps, land title maps (land Registry Folios and turbary maps), engineering drawings, and other mapping associated with project development; A full clean driving license is required for the role; Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
