Working effectively with and reporting to the company director as part of the management team thus ensuring quality standards are adhered to and maintained. - Provide quality control and quality assurance support to the production team (to help achieve quality, production targets and cost targets. - ensure any non compliance a of food safety are reported and rectified. - management of allergens & production planning. - daily production paperwork and filing. - seek to constantly improve on plant haccp systems. - ensure business is audit ready and be proactive in constantly trying to improve quality systems. - work with our food safety consultant on BRC implementation. - ensure all documentation is kept up to date for BRC audits on going. - Liaise with the team on NPD projects, developing samples and liaising with graphic designer for label compliance. - Overseeing ingredients & raw materials. - ensuring all production is traceable & mass balance / build reports. - Meeting with customers to discuss new projects, product requests and taking part in product development workshops. The person will need to be able to work under own initiative and be diligent in maintaining and filing paperwork. Record keeping in line with BRC is a high priority. Working closely with the company MD. Skills required / education: - practical industry experience ideally 2-3 years minimum. - BSc food science / technology degree. - HACCP trained. - BRC knowledge is a bonus and overall food safety and quality systems. - a team player and flexible. - Possess organisational skills, knowledge of excel, word, email.
