Junior C++ Software Engineer / Electronic Engineer. Dublin 2, Co. Dublin. €Excellent DOE. They are now seeking a Junior C++ Software Engineer / Electronic Engineer to join their team in Dublin 2. As a Junior C++ Software Engineer / Electronic Engineer, you will be challenged to deliver innovative modules for our client’s desktop application. Working on embedded application development, you will focus on the modules for a desktop app before moving on to programming for embedded devices. You’ll focus upon image acquisition, image processes and network data transfer using Linux or BSD. If so, you will need: - High levels of proficiency with C++ and at least three years’ professional experience or comparable private experience. - Skills in programming periphery devices (with special focus on cameras) using SDK libraries provided by manufacturers and standard system libraries. - Knowledge of best programming practices. - Familiarity with software repository tools such as SVN or Git. - Excellent mathematical skills. As a Junior C++ Software Engineer / Electronic Engineer, you will also need a proactive attitude towards learning and the ability to handle tasks beyond the specific boundaries of the role, whenever needed. Knowledge of nix systems setup configuration and maintenance would be beneficial to your application, as would familiarity with network programming on *nix (Linux, *BSD) platforms. App development for iOS and Android, knowledge of API for those platforms and knowledge of additional languages used (Java/Dalvik) would also be an advantage. Familiarity with Qt, or having the set of skills necessary to rapidly learn and become proficient in Qt would be equally favourable, as would knowledge of cross-platform UI programming and toolkits (such as QT) and a background in image processing and computer vision. A proactive attitude towards learning and the ability to handle tasks beyond the specific boundaries of the role, whenever needed would be ideal, as would a technical degree (preferably in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or in a related discipline.
