Lab Director. This organisation, a leader in the environmental testing space is looking to welcome a process-driven and knowledgeable lab manager to their team in the South East, to manage the day-to-day laboratory operations and team, and also contribute to the business development and strategy as the company continues to grow and thrive. This is an incredible opportunity for someone to lead a busy laboratory while also impacting the future success of the company. Sounds good so far, but what would my day-to-day look like? Provide vision, leadership and management to maintain and optimise the company’s operational systems, processes and teams. Continually improve processes and workflow. Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measurement and quality management. Work closely with management and lab staff to ensure excellence in all analytical and consultative services provided. Work in conjunction with senior leadership to conceive, develop and implement strategies for performance management to reach agreed targets. Develop key sales and marketing plans to drive the company into its next growth phase. Develop the company suite of services in order to better serve existing and new customers. Looks like a fit, now what should my profile look like in order to be considered? Relevant degree in a science/chemistry/agriscience discipline, and a Masters or other post-graduate qualification would be ideal. At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a laboratory environment, with demonstrable experience in managing and optimising lab processes, leading resources and managing operations (including ordering, reporting etc. Solid understanding of analytics and reporting. Strong demonstrable business-focused and commercial understanding. Willingness to contribute to company strategy and sales and marketing direction. Confident outlook and a strong level of comfort managing a team and facility. Great, what else do I need to know? This role is based in the South East, within an easy commute of Kilkenny, Carlow and Waterford and is flexible as regards package, depending on experience.
