Manage all aspects of procurement and material control department and ensure proper availability of the related spare parts and material to meet the department's requirements and schedules. Main Duties/Responsibilities: Follow up and approve Purchase Orders before submission to vendors. Follow up purchase requisitions with our suppliers. Negotiate and manage all major purchases & projects and support all departments in purchasing negotiations. Follow up the process of transportation of imported materials to ensure timely delivery to meet manufacturing demand. Conduct market surveys and analysis of material cost and prices. Develop procurement plans. Submit material manager with the required reports. Support management team in the annual budgeting plan and support company members to stay within budget. Maintain regular improvement on performance to find optimum alternatives to enhance costs. Assure regular vendor evaluation to maintain regular and frequent competition in the market. Interpret company policies and ensure that all activities are handled in line with safety regulations. Ensure that all reports related to Purchasing activities are checked and submitted as required (daily, monthly and yearly. Monitor and maintain tight stock control levels. Operate daily warehouse area ensuring accuracy of incoming documentation, receipting of incoming material, and routing to appropriate warehouse area. Maintain an orderly and tidy warehouse area. Fill work orders for production ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities. Establish and adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow. Requirements: Previous work experience as purchasing/stores/logistics and materials control. Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management. Excellent and effective communication skills. Solid judgement with good decision making. Good problem solving. Excellent negotiation skills. Good fluency in English. A degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration would be helpful. IIPCS certification would be an advantage. This job originally appeared on RecruitIreland.com.
